Every story deserves a song. Sometimes a great song already has one.

Sweet Melissa has been one of my favorites for years. Gregg Allman once shared that the title came from a chance encounter with a little girl in a convenience store. It's a reminder that inspiration often arrives when we least expect it.

This is my tribute to one of the great songs that inspired me as a songwriter.

Funny thing... I never planned on recording this song. A friend mentioned he was going to learn it, so I gave it another listen. Before I knew it, I was experimenting with a special capo, moving it into a key that fit my voice a little better, and playing around with a DADGAD-style tuning. One thing led to another, and this version was born.

I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed recording it.

Every now and then a song comes along that simply deserves to be played. Wagon Wheel has always been one of those songs for me. Whether I'm listening to Old Crow Medicine Show or Darius Rucker's version, I never seem to get tired of hearing it.

The song has an incredible story of its own. Bob Dylan wrote the chorus back in 1973, and more than twenty-five years later Ketch Secor completed it by writing the verses. Together they created what has become a modern American classic.

This is my take on a song I've admired for a very long time.
